The guide to understanding the importance of knowing your demographics
Today’s lesson is all about building a strong foundation for your Instagram account.
If your account is not set up correctly, you will not attract the right audience. So, before selling something, you will need to set up your account correctly.
There are more than
- 1.000,000,000 monthly active users (57% female – 43% male)
- 4.2 billion likes daily
- 95 million daily posts
- Over 32% of users make more than 100,000$ per year
Instagram is an incredible channel for promoting your business, engaging with customers and building long-term relationships with influential partners.
Instagram drives the most engagement per post compared to any other social network:
84 times more than Twitter, 54 times more than Pinterest and 10 times more than Facebook.
Demographics are important, especially key insights into the type of person, their likes and dislikes, etc. They help you deliver the right content to your ideal audience.
So, before starting reaching out people, you have to define your audience. In this way, you will be sure that they will be interested in what you do or offer.
Try to create a picture of this audience. For example, the audience of my fashion blog is composed of girls (mainly aged 18 to 35 years old) who like fashion and creating different looks, but don’t have a lot of money to spend. So I’m helping them solve this problem by creating different outfits on a budget, also using the same item for several looks.
So, first of all, I define my target and then I create the post or product that I want to sell to them.
It is very important that you define a small niche because there are a lot of accounts and if you talk about a particular topic, people are most likely to follow you and see you as a leader.
